Day One
The plane ride was far more interesting than I had originally thought it would be (and not only because I was seated next to an all girls swim team).
While waiting to board I met a good number of people on their way to Sasquatch. It was interesting to see 16 year old stoners and 65 year old, well, stoners, connecting over the upcoming festival. I also ran into the family of a well known seattle DJ, Harris Francis aka "Dirty Harry". According to them, Sasquatch seems to stir up quite a scene in the Seattle broadcast world. They spent a good amount of time assuring me that my boss would most certainly know who their son Dirty Harry is.
Lynne Resnick, a seattle concert promoter and agent (www.expandingbrooklyn.com) picked me up from the airport. Being married to Adam Zacks, as well as having several client bands in the line-up, Lynne is deeply involved in the coordination of Sasquatch. From the airport, we headed directly to the office of Don Clark, a graphic designer who was responsible for much of this year's Sasquatch paraphernalia, to discuss signed poster prints. (Don Clark is a very succesful designer who is best known for album covers. You can find his work at www.invisiblecreature.com)
The Zack's Family and I just finished dinner. They have absolutely no idea who "Dirty Harry" is.
